Carpe Diem Special #202 Basho’s Disciples: Shiba Sonome’s “nobody sees”

Here are some haiku I liked by  Chiyo-Ni ( Shiba Sonome) who lived in the Edo period of Japanese History.

Airing out kimonos
as well as her heart
is never enough.               © CHIYO-NI

Again the women
come to the fields
with unkempt hair.           © CHIYO-NI

Just for today
using men
for rice-planting.               © CHIYO-NI

Rouged lips
forgotton —
clear spring water.            © CHIYO-NI

my attempt for a haiku in the same manner

without make up
embracing the dawn –
immersed in beauty
