The Cold Night

The Cold Night

Carpe Diem #1033 the cold night

“These flowers, which were splendid and sprightly, waking in the dawn of the morning, in the evening will be a pitiful frivolity, sleeping in the cold night’s arms.” Pedro Calderon de la Barca.

morning gloryies wane
in the cool arms of night
a moon flower blooms

flowers drop their petals
summer gone
they sleep in cold earth
dreaming of spring
