Carpe Diem Special #220 Orion, a haibun by Dolores Fegan our featured haiku poetess

Orion is one of the best known constellations. It is visible in the night sky for half the year while scorpius makes his appearance in the other.  In Late October you may get a chance to see the Orionid’s meteor shower.  This shower is produced by Haley’s Comet.

near summer’s end
Orion rises in the night sky
Scorpious descending

sudden autumn rain
we huddle on the porch
unable to see the stars
peek night for meteor shower
passes us by

Orion’s arrow
forever pointing north
