Spots of Blue

Spots of Blue

Carpe Diem #1584 Winter Renga With Jane Reichhold — spots of blue

Six modern kigo: air, dawn, moon, stars, first light and sunset.
Haiku to work with written by Jane Reichhold.

winter dawn
sounds of blowing snow
sleeping birds

silence of the night broken
with rays of morning sunlight

spots of blue
varying the light to fit
tracks in the snow

ocean waves foam and froth
crashing against the shore

frost sharp air
cut into pieces by sunshine
sparkling on snow

dune grasses weighted down
feathery tips encased in ice

ocean sunset
staying by the window
’till the color sinks

moisture in the air forming
frosty feathers on the pane

cold winds
rounding snow-capped peaks
a full moon

silence broken by thumping
your entrance flooded with cold

before one star
beams from the lighthouse
search the sky

fresh flakes descend in silence
together watching the dance
