Lenard Cohen tribute for B&P Shadorma & Beyond

God be praised
on my lips today
giving thanks
with my tongue
but empty words can’t conceal
this rent heart

oh Hallelujah
I whisper once more
tears still flow
without faith
my soul can never please him
curse his name

still somehow
he still gets to me
drys my tears
mends my wounds
once again his favor rests
oh Hallelujah

Carpe Diem Special #208 Sara McNulty’s 4th “fantasy” shadorma

late at night
the moonlight calls me
secret tales
clinging tight to a moonbeam
I ride the night wind

star kissed dreams
dance on my shoulders
but briefly
through the land a I speed by
hair blowing freely

all to soon
the dawn greets me
tucked away
in gossamer strands of hope
the world crowding in

the land of midnight sun
a band of horses run

autumn eve
the flaming sun sets
horses race
just for joy
across the wind kissed meadow
shadows gently fall

Elusive Sleep

Elusive Sleep

Shadorma (3/5/3/3/7/5

late at night
sleep is elusive
I have tried
to count sheep
but after driving miles
not one could I find

in the dark
wandering the house
I have drank
warm sweet milk
two cups of valerian tea
but sleep eludes me

reading books
does not seem to help
my thoughts race
my head nods
I loose my place yet again
but am quiet awake

sleep, oh sleep
my quest not fulfilled
why are you
shy tonight
I wait for you my lost friend
alone in the dark
