Lenard Cohen tribute for B&P Shadorma & Beyond
Carpe Diem Special #208 Sara McNulty’s 4th “fantasy” shadorma
late at night
the moonlight calls me
whispering
secret tales
clinging tight to a moonbeam
I ride the night wind
star kissed dreams
dance on my shoulders
but briefly
cascading
through the land a I speed by
hair blowing freely
all to soon
the dawn greets me
memories
tucked away
in gossamer strands of hope
the world crowding in
Created by Emily Romano, the “Essence” consists of two lines of six syllables each. There is an end rhyme (rhyme at the end of the line) and an internal rhyme (rhyme in the middle of the line).

I will tweet
in the wee hours
of the night
waltz till dawn
while my muse stirs me on
conducting my thoughts

late at night
sleep is elusive
I have tried
to count sheep
but after driving miles
not one could I find
in the dark
wandering the house
I have drank
warm sweet milk
two cups of valerian tea
but sleep eludes me
reading books
does not seem to help
my thoughts race
my head nods
I loose my place yet again
but am quiet awake
sleep, oh sleep
my quest not fulfilled
why are you
shy tonight
I wait for you my lost friend
alone in the dark
