I’m leaving today
leaving the past behind me
making a fresh start
the caterpillar
leaves the tomb of his cocoon
now a butterfly
about to experience
the richness of new life
birdsong fills the air
soon plants will leave their long sleep
reaching for sun

Thanks Kristjaan. Years ago I use to write a lot of tanka, now I hardly write 10 in a year, compared to a minimum of 3 haiku a fay. Glad you liked it
